We have two ways in which you can get your teeth whitened.

Office Whitening

This will whiten your teeth in 30 minutes and the dentist will perform the job with our dedicated machine. Here we use two types of techniques for whitening your teeth.

Professional teeth whitening

• This method of whitening is also called chairside bleaching. This method is quickest and not a painful one.
• To expose complete esthetic zone of teeth a cheek retractor is inserted into the mouth
• To safeguard against any irritability caused by bleaching gel a hardening resin is applied onto the gum.
• A Bleaching material having hydrogen peroxide is painted onto the esthetic area and preserved on for 15-30 mins approximately.
• Then bleaching gel is cleaned and a new fresh gel is used for one or more additional duration of 15-30 mins.
• An intense light is focused on the teeth to activate the bleaching process.
• Teeth are monitored in between to know how good they are whitened and either more gel needs to be applied.
• Cheek retractors are removed after applying the final gel and the patient cleans their mouth. Finally, the shades are measured again.

Laser teeth whitening

• This method is a bit expensive than professional teeth whitening and also takes time about an hour. Here the results last longer. The process involves:
• A cheek retractor is similarly applied as done in professional teeth whitening for safety reasons.
• Formulated soft or rubber dams are used to cover the gums.
• To strengthen and harden enamel desensitizing pastes are applied.
• The bleaching gel used here is also hydrogen peroxide with higher concentration. Hence we take every measure to ensure your safety.
• Those strong bleaching gel is applied to each tooth and heat is generated using laser for speeding up the process.
• Then post-treatment whitening measurements are taken to check the shades of the teeth.

Home whitening

You will get a whitening gel pack along with a customized tray, which you should use throughout after sleep. Your teeth will get whitened after 3-7 days.

Know why your teeth are yellow?

There are two types of stains

• Stains above the enamel also know as extrinsic stains and they are caused due to lifestyle activities such as smoking, consumption of a large amount of dark-colored foods, drinks, and daily intake of tea or coffee.
• Stains below the enamel also known as intrinsic stains and they are caused due to aging and excessive usage of fluorides.

Other reasons include

1) Cavity – Cavities, also known as dental caries or tooth decay causes a hole in the teeth which becomes bigger and deeper. If you left untreated teeth, it will reach the nerves and cause severe pain. If it reaches root you need root canal treatment or extraction.

2) Non-vital tooth – This tooth is also called as a dead tooth as there will not be any blood supply in that tooth. This occurs due to tooth decay or accidental injuries.
